The operator of the Resorts World Manila Casino Resort, Travellers International Hotel Group Inc, said that the company is hoping to expand the gaming base of the resort in the Philippines to 3 million customers by the end of 2015.

In a media briefing, chief operating officer at Travellers Stephen Reilly said that currently Resorts World Manila has 2.7 million members and that it is very important for the resort to develop into a family destination, not just a gaming one. The communications director at Resorts World Manila Owen Cammayo added that the resort could expand its member’s base and reach the 3 million mark but if it’s driven to the entire industry, not just by gaming.

According to the information on Travellers’s website, the resort will increase its hotel capacity from 1,226 rooms to 4,200 rooms in the upcoming four years with the expansions of Maxim and Marriott Hotels and the construction of new hotels such as Sheraton Hotel Manila, Hilton Manila Hotel and Belmont Hotel. Resorts World Manila also opened the doors of Marriott Grand Ballroom which has a theater-style set up with a capacity of 4,000.

For the three months to the end of June 2015, Travellers International announced a decline of 46.4 percent in net profit year-on-year. The promotional allowances of the company went up 252 percent to PHP1.07 billion in the second quarter of this year compared to PHP304.27 million in the same time the previous year.

A venture between Genting Hong Kong Limited and the Alliance Global Group, Travellers International operates the Resorts World Manila Casino Resort located nearby the Manila International Airport.
