The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) will act as advisors to the Chinese Equestrian Association to help develop the sport of horse racing in China. An historic agreement was announced between the two organizations on September 9th that will see the HKJC help the mainland association with details such as regulations and racing controls, training jockeys, judges, and stewards and developing drug testing.

Betting on horses, trainers, or jockeys will not be allowed and the HKJC will have no part in the actual races.

The partnership will debut in the public eye at the Jinma Racecourse in Wenjiang on November 7th for the “Hong Kong Jockey Club Race Day” officially known as the China Horse Racing Grand Prix. Wenjiang is located about an hour outside Chengdu.
